Mission Opportunities
In Colossians 3:17, the apostle Paul writes, “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
During the week of Kentucky Changers (June 22-28, 2024), we were blessed with countless opportunities to serve and worship in the name of the Lord Jesus. Every step of the way, we gave thanks to God the Father and truly strived to bring Him glory.
In terms of finances, God provided over $36,000. These funds were raised through our Network churches as well as other financial partners. These funds furnished the materials for 18 projects that were completed by 14 different crews. In total, 15 homeowners were cared for as well as 2nd Baptist Church Campbellsburg and the Henry County Help Center.
As good as this news truly is, there is an even greater praise that we have to share. During the week of Changers, 6 youth made professions of faith and 2 students answered the call to ministry! This is truly what Kentucky Changers is all about. As important as the construction projects are, we ultimately want to see lives changed by the gospel and salvation of Jesus Christ.
We also have to share a massive thank you to our host churches. We are grateful for 15 congregations who opened their doors to Kentucky Changers and worshipped alongside them on Sunday (June 23) as well as provided lunches throughout the week. Plus, for every Network church that prayed in the weeks and months leading up to Changers, your prayers were heard and answered by the Lord. Your faithfulness in praying for this important ministry is a blessing beyond what we can describe. We are grateful for you! What a joy it is to pray for one another in the name of the Lord as fellow congregations.
As we reflect on all of the wonderful joys that took place during the week of Changers, we ultimately hold no applause for ourselves. God gets all of the glory and praise. He is the One who transformed and rescued lives. He gave these youth and adults the strength and energy to work in extreme heat. He also opened doors and allowed for gospel conversations to take place.
Because of this, we want to follow in the footsteps of the apostle Paul. As he declared in 1 Corinthians 1:31, “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”
